The growing popularity of water-based acrylic colours became of interest to airbrush artists until then working with solvent-based products. With the help of these artists during the periods of trial and testing, Vallejo formulated the first acrylic colours for airbrushing in 1986. In the following years, the company began developing a range of colors-Model Color- for hobby and model painters, as well as complete lines of colours and auxiliary products for decorative arts.
Since the beginning in the seventies until today, the company has extended its installations several times, starting in a garage of 30 square meters, then moving to a warehouse, and finally expanding to the actual installations in 3 industrial buildings, divided into raw material storage, manufacturing and stock sections.
